Abstract: Ag-doped TiO2 powders were prepared by a sol-gel process. The influence of Ag doping on the
microstructure and phase transformation behaviors of TiO2 powders was investigated by means of XRD, SEM, DSC-TG, SEM-EDX and N2 absorption.
The results show that Ag dopant promotes TiO2 anatase to rutile transformation but depresses the growth of anatase grains, decreasing
anatase grain sizes and increasing the specific surface area of TiO2 powder. The Ag doping therefore exhibits a great potential in improving the
TiO2 photocatalytic activity.
