Abstract: Potassium lithium niobate crystal K3Li2-xNb5+x015+2x (0< x <0.5) for blue second-harmonicgeneration applications was grown by the modified Bridgman technique for the first time. Thegrowth conditions, including the selection of starting compositions, preparation of the startingmaterials, design of the temperature distribution and control of the furnace temperature, werediscussed. A transparant KLN crystal with 10mm in diameter and 25mm in length was grownsuccessfully.
