Abstract: Stability of BaO-TiO2-SiO2 sol-gel derived coatings in Portland Cement was studied by the scanning electron microscopy, X-ray fluorescence analysis, secondary neutral mass spectrometer, and X-ray diffrastion. The results showed that BaO-TiO2-SiO2 coatings can protect the silicate glass substrate against the attack of saturated Ca(OH)2 and Portland cement aqueous solutions at 80℃ for a long period of time. The long term stability of GRC composites reinforced with coated E-glass fibers is apparently improved.
