Abstract: Potassium lithium niobate single crystals of 10mm in diameter and up to 45mm in length were grown by the modified Bridgman technique. The transmittance spectrum and dielectric property of as-grown crystal were measured. The wafer of as-grown KLN crystal has good transmittance from 400nm to 800nm. Dielectric constants ε33 and ε11) at room temperature are 127 and 376 respectively. The cleavage face and chemical inhomogeneity are the main factors of cracking.
