Abstract: A gadolinium gallium garnet (Gd3Ga5O12,GGG) polycrystalline material was prepared by a liquid-phase co-deposited synthesis method. The optimized
procedure and the conditions for preparing the GGG polycrystalline material by the liquid-phase method were reported. The effects of the compositional proportion
of Gd2O3 and Ga2O3, pH value of titration, synthesis temperature and sintering time on preparing GGG polycrystalline powders were also discussed. By
comparison with the preparation of GGG polycrystalline material by solid-state reaction process, the liquid-phase synthesis method possesses the merits of lower
synthesis temperature and shorter sintering time. At the same time, the GGG polycrystalline material prepared by the liquid-phase
co-deposited method has high uniformity and exact stoichiometric composition.
