Abstract: The ZnO/BaTiO3 nanocomposite system was prepared by a sol-gel method. The particle size, structure and phases of the nanocomposite were studied by XRD and
TEM. In addition, enhanced photoluminescence of the nanocomposite under 370nm light excitation was observed at room temperature. The blue-green emission peak
induced by oxygen vacancies of nano-ZnO particles, has blue-shift or red-shift with different heat-treatment temperatures, the blue-shift is assigned to quantum
size effect, and the red-shift is attributed to the high dielectric environment effects of the BaTiO3 matrix.
