Preparation of Nanometer Manganese Dioxide Microspheres by Using W/O Emulsion as Template

Abstract

Abstract: Nanometer manganese dioxide microspheres were prepared from sodium pyrosulfite acid and potassium permanganate via using W/O emulsions as template. SEM, TEM, XRD and FT-IR were used to characterize the MnO₂ micropheres. The SEM and TEM images showed that the average diameter of the MnO₂ micropheres was about 150nm. The XRD analysis indicated that the MnO₂ micropheres was of non-crystalline and active. According to the experimental facts and characteristic of the products, the formation mechanism of the microsphere was discussed.
