Preparation and Characterization of Hollow Superparamagnetic Fe₃O₄ Nanospheres

Abstract

Abstract: Hollow superparamagnetic Fe₃O₄ nanospheres were prepared by co-precipitating iron (Ⅱ) and iron (Ⅲ) chloride salts in the presence of sodium hydroxide at 80℃. Triblock copoly-mer F127 was used as template. The nanospheres were characterized by XRD and TEM. The experimental results show that the Fe₃O₄ hollow nanospheres are uniform and well dispersed, the diameter is from 55 to 75nm and the shell thickness is about 7nm.
