Abstract: Uniform CdS spheres were synthesized in the aqueous solution with the precipitation method, and TEM and XRD were employed to study the relationship between polymer concentration and morphology of CdS particles. The results show that uniform CdS spheres with 500 nm can be synthesized with controlled concentration of PVP; the greater the concentration of PVP, the greater the diameter of particles, and the more homogeneous the particles; microspheres are composed of small substructural CdS crystallites, and the greater the polymer concentration, the smaller the diameter of substructural crystallites.
