Abstract: This paper described PWO crystals grown by Bridgman technology for the first time. Thematerials evaporated from the PbWO4 melt were studied during tile growth of PWO crystals bymeans of both Czochralski and Bridgman mcthod. The results indicated that the evaporation rateof PbO is higher than that of WO3. Further the X-ray luminescence properties were investigatedof different positions of PWO crystals.
