Abstract: Na2CO3 particles were utilized to trace the thermocapillary convection of Li2B4O7+ KNbO3 melt in a loop--like crucible. The thermocapillary convection velocity field beside the crucible inner edge was experimentally measured. From thermodynamic equation this velocity field was also obtained theoretically and it confirmed with the experimental data exactly.
